Este avance representa una innovaci\u00f3n en el sector de la construcci\u00f3n, donde la madera y el vidrio son materiales ampliamente utilizados en Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n<p>La idea de utilizar madera para crear vidrio transparente no es nueva, habiendo sido explorada por Siegfried Fink en 1992 al blanquear los pigmentos de las c\u00e9lulas vegetales. Investigaciones posteriores han logrado crear materiales fuertes y resistentes a partir de la madera, incluyendo los avances recientes de un equipo de la Universidad Central del Sur de Silvicultura y Tecnolog\u00eda (CSUFT) en China.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados de esta investigaci\u00f3n, publicados en la revista Research, sugieren que la madera transparente no solo puede reemplazar elementos como las ventanas, sino que tambi\u00e9n puede servir como sustrato para c\u00e9lulas solares de perovskita. Estas c\u00e9lulas tienen el potencial de superar a las placas solares convencionales de silicio en t\u00e9rminos de eficiencia energ\u00e9tica, con mejoras de m\u00e1s del 15% gracias a la alta transmitancia luminosa de la madera transparente.<\/p>\n<p>Para lograr la transparencia en la madera, se emplea una t\u00e9cnica compleja que implica la modificaci\u00f3n o eliminaci\u00f3n de la lignina, una sustancia natural que da color marr\u00f3n a la madera. Posteriormente, se rellenan las c\u00e9lulas huecas con una sustancia como la resina epoxi para desviar la luz de manera similar a las paredes celulares, logrando as\u00ed la transparencia.<\/p>\n<p>Ante los desaf\u00edos que enfrenta la madera transparente, como la escasez mundial de madera y su vulnerabilidad al fuego debido al uso de pol\u00edmeros en su fabricaci\u00f3n, los investigadores identificaron al bamb\u00fa como una alternativa prometedora. El bamb\u00fa, con su r\u00e1pida tasa de crecimiento y regeneraci\u00f3n, se presenta como una opci\u00f3n sostenible y eficiente para la producci\u00f3n de placas de vidrio a partir de madera transparente.<\/p>\n<p>La composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica y estructura interna del bamb\u00fa son similares a las de la madera, lo que le confiere propiedades \u00fanicas como resistencia, porosidad y permeabilidad.
